Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts: Day shift 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM, Night shift 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Every-other-weekend requirement (3 weekends out of 6-week schedule)
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7 (mostly 1:7 for both day and night shifts)
• Work into holiday rotation schedule
• Schedules made for 6 weeks at a time with up to 6 requests off allowed per schedule
• Float to other Med Surg, Med Surg/Oncology units, possibly IMC for Med Surg overflow
• Charge nurse takes full patient assignment with Clinical Assistant support
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS
• ACLS certification is a plus
• BSN degree not required
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom) with navy scrub jackets, no hoodies
• Use Allscripts Sunrise EMR system
• Care for 52-bed unit with all private rooms
• Handle post-operative ortho and neuro patients, general medical conditions
• Experience with peritoneal dialysis highly preferred
• Remote telemetry monitoring as needed
• IV team starts all IVs, RNs assess IV sites
• Manage drips including Heparin, PCAs with MSO4, occasional Ativan
• Work with BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow oxygen equipment
• General hospital orientation plus 2 full shifts on unit
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license and disclose any licensing issues
• Must reside within 50-mile radius
