Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Minimum of 2 holidays required during contract timeframe
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 for both day and night shifts
• 40-bed unit with average daily census of 24 patients
• Care for adult patients with cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular, sepsis, respiratory conditions, stroke, post stent, and post pacer placement
• Must be competent in arterial lines and titrating drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
• Required to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Floating required to MedSurg or ICU to take PCU acuity patients
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must pass 90% on open book skills exam during orientation or face contract termination
• One day of unit-specific orientation provided
• Must live outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13-week contract)
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• EPIC charting system used
• Equipment includes overhead lifts, portable lifts, vein finders, bladder scanners, and high flow oxygen
