Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• 33-bed stepdown unit with nurse to patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Every other weekend requirement with holidays as needed
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must pass open book skills exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score required
• First week classroom orientation followed by 2 twelve-hour shifts on the floor
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
• Driver's license required at submittal to verify 50-mile radius requirement
• Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care departments
• Care for young adults through geriatrics with diagnoses including sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, stroke, renal failure, COPD, DKA, and complex medical issues
• Titrate drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, and Insulin
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Work with BiPAP and Airvo respiratory equipment
• May float to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care units
• Use EPIC charting system
• Busy patient flow requiring admissions and discharges within same 6-hour timeframe
• Participate in bedside reporting and hourly rounding
• CNAs available with 1:10 ratio based on unit census
