Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Must be on unit ready to go by 6:45 AM/PM
• Weekend requirements include working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts
• Night shift workers must work 4 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule
• Day shift workers must work 4 weekend day shifts per 4-week schedule and minimum 3 night shifts per 4-week schedule
• Self-scheduling allowed as long as unit needs are met
• Staff allowed 4 requested days off per month
• Patient ratios goal is 1:4, typically running 1:5, occasionally 1:6
• Required to float to Telemetry or Medical-Surgical units as needed with ratios up to 1:6, possibly 1:7
• Must be flexible to work holidays when needed
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom) with navy scrub jackets, no hoodies
• Work with EMR systems: Sunrise and Allscripts for charting
• Use Nihon Kohden telemetry monitors
• 2-day orientation: first day 4 hours with HR and 8 hours on unit with preceptor, second day on unit with preceptor
• Care for patients with chest pain, rule out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacemaker, pre/post catheterizations, and Tikosyn therapy patients
• 50-mile radius rule applies
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license with submission
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract

This healthcare facility operates a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) with 14 private and 16 semi-private rooms. The facility maintains 24/7 in-house support including hospitalist coverage, intensivist coverage in ICU, resident physicians, IV team, PICC/Midline team, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services. The organization provides comprehensive intermediate care services with telemetry monitoring capabilities and utilizes modern equipment including Nihon Kohden monitors and Pyxis medication dispensing systems.
