Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Block scheduling not guaranteed - must be flexible to fill gaps in permanent schedules
• Every other weekend requirement
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• No call or standby requirements
• No floating requirements
• Must complete approximately 20 hours of modules prior to working (client allows billing up to 6 hours)
• 1-2 days orientation with preceptor depending on needs
• Maintain 1:3 nurse to patient ratio
• Must have 5 years of ED experience (trauma level 1 & 2 ED experience accepted)
• Must be able to mix and titrate critical drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Epinephrine, and Insulin
• Must be able to critically think and work independently
• First time travelers accepted
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry and EKGs
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), PALS, TNCC
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs, jackets without hoods allowed
• Handle diverse patient population from minor injuries to major traumas, STEMIs, and strokes
• Treat oil field-related injuries including crush injuries, burns, and amputations
• Average 40-50 patients treated per day

Facility:

This community hospital is currently working toward Trauma Level 4 designation and offers more capabilities than anticipated for a smaller facility. The emergency department features 5 beds and 2 trauma bays with 24/7 security, in-house respiratory therapy during the day, and comprehensive imaging services including X-ray, CT, ultrasound, and MRI availability. The facility maintains one ED physician 24/7 and transfers out STEMIs and strokes to higher level care centers. The hospital has a walk-in family practice clinic attached that handles lower acuity patients.
