Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday requirements include 1 major and 1 minor holiday
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4 on a 22-bed stepdown unit
• Care for patients with heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke
• Required to titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerine
• Must read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Work with CPAP equipment and troubleshoot respiratory devices
• Charge nurse takes full patient assignment
• May float to ICU if appropriate experience is demonstrated
• Fast-paced unit with frequent admissions and discharges
• Must pass open book skills exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score or face termination
• One 12-hour shift of department-specific orientation provided
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must live outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities
• Driver's license required for submittal verification
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove leads to contract termination
• Charting system: EPIC
• Successful candidates demonstrate positive attitude, teamwork, and patient-oriented care
