Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work night shifts: 3, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend dayshift available: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule required
• Holiday rotation participation expected
• Up to 3 shifts in a row possible but flexibility required
• Nurse to patient ratio: 1:3 for Stepdown, 1:5-6 for EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit)
• Care for higher acuity neuroscience patients including strokes, seizures, craniotomies
• Manage patients with EVDs, post-TPA cases, and EMU patients
• Strong neuroscience experience required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• ACLS preferred
• Royal blue scrubs required
• 2-shift unit orientation provided
• Possible floating to other units (7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10W)
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Driver's license address must be outside 50 miles from facility
• COVID vaccination required

This healthcare facility features a specialized neuroscience stepdown unit within the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, providing advanced care for complex neurological conditions. The 31-bed unit includes 25 stepdown beds and 6 epilepsy monitoring unit beds, equipped with telemetry monitoring and respiratory therapy support available 24/7. The facility maintains high standards of care with dedicated charge nurses around the clock and specialized support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
