Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• May be required to participate in holiday rotation
• No call or standby requirements
• No floating requirements
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:3-5
• Must complete mandatory modules prior to working (approximately 20 hours, with up to 6 hours billable)
• 1-2 day orientation with preceptor depending on needs
• Must have 3 years of Medical/Surgical-Telemetry experience
• LTAC experience preferred
• PCU/Stepdown experience preferred
• First time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Must be able to titrate drips including insulin, amiodarone, and levophed
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Work with Mindray cardiac monitors
• Care for Medical/Surgical/PCU patients depending on competency
• May work in PCU within the department based on experience
• Perform AccuChecks
• Work with TruBridge - Evident charting system
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Block scheduling not guaranteed - flexibility required to fill gaps in permanent schedules
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week assignment
• BSN not required

Facility:

This acute care hospital is a growing healthcare facility that offers more capabilities than typically expected for a smaller hospital setting. The organization is currently working toward becoming a Level IV hospital and provides comprehensive medical and surgical services. The facility features a 26-bed Medical/Surgical unit with PCU capabilities and maintains 24/7 respiratory therapy services. The hospital does not have an ICU, with higher acuity patients transferred to higher level facilities as needed.
