Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend (nights include Friday/Saturday/Sunday, days include Saturday/Sunday)
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling allowed when unit needs are met
• Patient ratio of 1:4 in a 30-bed Advanced Care Unit with all private rooms
• Must have stepdown acuity experience and ability to read cardiac strips
• Required to titrate drips including Cardizem per physician orders, Insulin, and Heparin
• Must verify and sign-off on cardiac strips despite having monitor techs available
• Work with stroke, trauma, and vascular patients including post-catheterization care
• Handle patients with femoral-popliteal procedures, carotids, DKA, AKA, and TR bands
• May care for 4-5 fresh carotid patients simultaneously
• Travelers are first to float to Medical-Surgical/Telemetry or ICU for ACU status patients only
• Very rare call or standby requirements
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Must provide unexpired driver's license copy with submission
• Royal blue scrubs required (scrub jackets optional but must be actual scrub jackets)
• Three-day orientation: HR and clinical educator on day one, shadowing on days two and three
• EPIC charting system used
• BSN not required
