Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (1845-0715)
• Every other weekend requirement (3 weekends out of a 6-week schedule)
• Holiday rotation schedule required
• Patient ratio typically 1:6-7 (mostly 1:7 for both day and night shifts)
• 52-bed unit with all private rooms on 4th floor ortho/surgical unit
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS
• ACLS certification is a plus
• Dress code: Navy blue scrub top and bottom with navy scrub jackets (no hoodies)
• Use Allscripts charting system and Sunrise EMR
• General hospital orientation followed by 2 full shifts on unit
• May float to other medical-surgical units, med-surg/oncology units, or IMC for med-surg overflow
• Manage drips including heparin, PCAs with MSO4, occasional Ativan drips (no cardiac drips or insulin)
• Work with ventilation equipment including BIPAP (intermittent only), CPAP, and high flow oxygen
• Care for post-operative orthopedic patients, basic neuro post-ops, and general surgical patients
• Experience with peritoneal dialysis highly preferred
• IV team handles all IV starts; nurses assess IV sites
• Remote telemetry monitoring as needed
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license and disclose any licensing hits at submission
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• BSN not required
