Opportunity:

RN - Tele Float Pool Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Night shift availability with block scheduling accommodation when possible
• Float pool position covering MedSurg Tele and PCU across both campuses
• May include inpatient holding assignments in emergency department
• Unit assignment notification provided 2 hours prior to shift start via text message
• Travel between campuses required (20-25 minute distance)
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: PCU 1:4, MedSurg Tele 1:5-6
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam with 80% score within two attempts prior to contract signing
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 1 year PCU experience required
• Must be comfortable titrating drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin
• Must be able to interpret telemetry strips
• Care for geriatric patients, orthopedic patients, post-procedural cardiac patients, post-MI, post-cardiac catheterization, and CABG post-op day 3-4 patients
• Experience managing groin sites in stepdown unit required
• Work with respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high flow
• Schedule published 6 weeks out for 4 weeks at a time with flexibility required
• Holiday rotation included with permanent staff
• No call or standby requirements
• Dress code: Solid color professional scrubs (transitioning to navy scrubs in October)
• Charting system: Cerner
• 8-hour general hospital orientation plus unit-specific training shifts
