Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Orthopedic/Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts: Days 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or Nights 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with 30-minute lunch break
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Every-other-weekend requirement (Weekend shifts for nights are Friday/Saturday/Sunday; days are Saturday/Sunday)
• Holiday coverage required depending on unit needs
• Must have EPIC experience - required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Must have experience with orthopedic patients and PCA pumps
• Care for patients with elective surgeries including hips, knees, shoulders, fractures from falls, back and neck neurosurgeries, and general medical surgical patients
• Work with IV fluids and PCA pumps (no heparin or other drips, no drip titration required)
• Royal blue scrubs required - scrub jackets must be actual scrub jackets in royal blue (no hoodies or sweat jackets)
• Floating required to any medical surgical units as first priority
• 3-day orientation: 1 day EPIC orientation, 1 day floor orientation with preceptor, 3rd day independent
• Unexpired driver's license copy required with submission
• May be called off for low census depending on contract
• Client may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment and 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks

This healthcare facility features a 33-bed orthopedic and neurology unit with all private rooms, supported by patient care technicians and charge nurses available 24/7. The facility utilizes EPIC charting system and provides comprehensive care for orthopedic and neurological patients, including elective surgeries and trauma cases. The unit is equipped with remote telemetry monitoring when needed and respiratory therapy support for advanced breathing equipment.
