Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• No self-scheduling available, but block scheduling accommodated when possible
• Weekend requirements: Generally every 3rd weekend with flexibility based on need
• Holiday requirements: Every 3rd holiday, expect to work one winter holiday
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:4-6 on a 30-bed unit with average census of 20
• All private rooms with general medical-surgical patient population
• Common diagnoses include dementia, post-surgical patients, falls, influenza, pneumonia, failure to thrive, and cancer patients
• Preferred experience with chest tubes, pain management, TPN, CBI, and wound care
• Charge nurse experience preferred but not required - may be asked to work charge if experienced
• May float to PCU for med-surg overflow or low acuity PCU patients
• No call or standby requirements
• No drip titration required
• Work with nurse aides (typically 2-3 per unit) and monitor techs for telemetry
• RT equipment available with respiratory therapy support for CPAP management
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Dress code: Any solid color scrubs, no patterns or designs
• Two-day nursing department orientation plus one day floor orientation
• EPIC charting system
• Must work within 50-mile radius requirement
