Opportunity:
RN - OR
Job Details:
• Work 4-10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Day shift options include 8-hour or 10-hour shifts: 6:00 AM-2:00 PM, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, or 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Rotating weekend schedule with one weekend day per 4-week schedule working 8-hour shifts 7:00 AM-3:00 PM
• Second call requirement: 1-2 calls every schedule (monthly), 24-hour call coverage from 7:00 AM-7:00 AM on weekends
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• Float to OR holding area when needed
• Work in preop care area (surgical center)
• Handle 55-70 cases per day across 15 operating suites
• Provide preop care for all procedures including same day and overnight stays
• IV skills required and surgical care knowledge essential
• Robotics experience preferred
• Scrubbing not required - preop care only
• Must live within 50-mile radius of facility
• Valid unexpired driver's license required for submission
• BLS certification required
• EMR systems: Currently Sunrise, transitioning to EPIC in April
• Charting system: Allscripts
• Scrub colors provided by facility
• Unit-specific orientation in surgical center/preop area
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• BSN not required

Pros to me are the weather because it was so cold I loved it, but this facility is one of WVUs more neglected hospitals, not like any other WVU hospital!! I would come back though for the right price.
Cons
My contract was for 6 patients and they tried to get us to take 7 patients frequently, we hardly have any PCTs on schedule so we are getting paid to be a nurse while also having to carry the extra load of being the PCT, we work w/o URs most of the time and when I tried to renegotiate my extension they said my rate would stay the same. After all I have done by picking up OT shifts, charging, and helping as a PCT while taking my own patient load is me doing too much for not enough. Meanwhile I spoke with my colleagues and one of them is getting paid way more than me and another nurse and even he was shocked that he is getting paid more for only working the minimum. Kudos to him since his recruiter got him that nice rate!! I also picked up an OT shift on 12/10 and still haven’t gotten paid and the facility even told my recruiter to not contact him until 1/16 again. It’s crazy to me that they don’t want to be bothered but if I worked that to help YOU out then you should at least have the decency to pay on time!!

Pros
I am an Adult Cardiac Sonographer and I have been traveling for almost 3 years now and pretty much all the time with ADEX Healthcare staffing. I always look around for all the options as most of travelers do, but end up with this company, because They don’t fail me! Good competitive rates and always attention. Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
