Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every-other-weekend requirement for both Saturday and Sunday
• Work in holiday rotation schedule with permanent staff
• Patient ratios mainly 1:5-6 for both days and nights (occasionally up to 7 patients toward end of shift)
• Float to other units as needed, including critical care for med/surg or stepdown type patients
• 1-2 shifts floor-specific orientation with preceptor
• Must wear royal blue scrubs
• No false nails permitted
• Must have valid driver's license within 50-mile radius
• Required certification: BLS
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Perform aerosols for non-vented patients and EKGs
• Use EPIC charting system
• Care for patients with CHF, cardiac catheterization, chest pain, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, orthopedic, and oncology conditions
• BSN not required
• 2 shifts cancellation policy per 13-week contract

This acute care facility operates as a Level 2 trauma center providing comprehensive medical services to the community. The facility features multiple medical-surgical units with dedicated charge nurses, certified nursing assistants, and 24/7 respiratory therapy services. The organization uses modern technology including Phillips telemetry monitoring, EPIC electronic medical records, and Accudose pharmacy systems. The facility maintains an in-house pharmacy 24/7, IV team services until 10 PM Monday-Friday and until 3:30 PM on weekends, and comprehensive support services for diverse patient populations.
