Opportunity:

RN - PCU Inpatient Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend requirement with potential holiday rotation
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:3-5 on a 26-bed unit
• Must complete mandatory modules prior to working (approximately 20 hours, with up to 6 hours billable)
• 1-2 day orientation with preceptor depending on needs
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA)
• Minimum 3 years of Medical/Surgical-Telemetry experience required
• PCU/Stepdown experience preferred, will accept first-time travelers
• LTAC experience highly beneficial
• Must be able to titrate drips including insulin, amiodarone, and levophed
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips using Mindray cardiac monitors
• Capability to maintain intubation preferred
• Handle Medical/Surgical/PCU patients depending on competency level
• Manage patients on drips with invasive monitors
• No floating requirements, no call or standby requirements
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs
• Charting system: TruBridge - Evident
• Manager will attempt to accommodate schedule requests but flexibility required to fill gaps
• Travelers typically not asked to step into charge role
• BSN not required

Facility:

This acute care hospital offers more capabilities than typically expected for a smaller facility and is currently working toward achieving Level IV hospital status. The facility provides comprehensive medical services with 24/7 respiratory therapy support, in-house respiratory equipment management, and multiple drip protocols. The hospital maintains a progressive care unit within the medical/surgical department and transfers patients requiring higher acuity care to specialized facilities when needed.
