Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff
• 28-bed Progressive Care Unit with 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for adult patients including mixed medical/surgical, cardiac, and stroke patients
• Required to titrate drips including heparin, octreotide, insulin, and maintenance IV medications
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry monitoring
• Floating requirements to Med/Surg and other areas including ICU/ED based on abilities
• Navy blue scrubs required - artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas
• Must pass open book skills exam with 90% score during orientation or face termination
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Driver's license required for submittal to verify 50-mile radius requirement
• First week classroom orientation followed by 2 twelve-hour shifts of unit-specific training
• Use EPIC charting system
• High-flow unit with frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Work with specialty equipment including code carts, LUCAS machines, hoyer lifts
• Cannot be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit affiliated facility

This progressive care facility operates a 28-bed stepdown unit providing intermediate-level care for patients who require more intensive monitoring than general medical-surgical floors but less than intensive care. The facility emphasizes teamwork and collaborative care delivery with specialized equipment and comprehensive telemetry monitoring capabilities.
