Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with day/night rotation
• Must be on unit ready to go by 6:45 AM/PM
• Weekend requirements vary by shift - nights work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule, days work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule with minimum 3 night shifts required
• Self-scheduling allowed as long as unit needs are met with 4 requested days off per month
• Patient ratios typically 1:5, goal is 1:4, occasionally 1:6
• Float to Telemetry, Medical-Surgical units (ratios up to 1:6-1:7), and Pandemic Unit as needed
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
• Manage patients with chest pain, rule out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post pacer, pre/post cardiac catheterizations
• Handle radial band management and removal, groin checks, and Tikosyn therapy patients
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom) with navy scrub jackets, no hoodies
• Use Allscripts charting system and Nihon Kohden telemetry monitors
• 2-day orientation with preceptor after initial HR day
• 50 mile radius rule applies - must provide copy of unexpired driver's license
• 2 shift cancellation policy per 13-week contract
• BSN not required but willing to wait for license

This healthcare facility features a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit with 14 private and 16 semi-private rooms, providing comprehensive stepdown care services. The facility maintains 24/7 coverage with hospitalists, intensivists, IV team, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services. The organization utilizes advanced telemetry monitoring systems and maintains full support services including PICC/Midline teams to ensure optimal patient care in an intermediate care setting.
