Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 PM
• Must be on unit ready to go by 6:45 PM
• Weekend requirements include working 4 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule
• Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are all considered weekend shifts
• Patient ratios typically 1:5, occasionally up to 1:6
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
• Required to float to telemetry or med-surg units as needed with ratios up to 1:6, possibly 1:7 in med-surg
• Expected to float to pandemic unit when needed
• Self-scheduling allowed as long as unit needs are met
• Staff allowed 4 requested days off per month
• Must be flexible to work holidays if needed
• Dress code: Navy blue scrub top and bottom with navy scrub jackets, no hoodies
• Use Allscripts charting system and Pyxis pharmacy system
• Work with Nihon Kohden telemetry monitors
• 50-mile radius rule applies
• Two-day orientation program with preceptor support
• Care for patients with chest pain, rule out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacer, pre/post cardiac catheterizations, and Tikosyn therapy patients
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract

This healthcare facility operates a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit with 14 private and 16 semi-private rooms, providing comprehensive cardiac and intermediate care services. The facility maintains 24/7 hospitalist coverage, intensivist support, resident physicians, IV team, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services. The organization utilizes advanced telemetry monitoring systems and offers specialized cardiac care including cardiac catheterization procedures and pacemaker management.
