Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend requirement every other weekend (EOW) - could be Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday depending on unit needs
• Holiday requirement based on unit needs
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling allowed when unit needs are met
• Patient ratios typically 1:2, CRRT/Organ Donation 1:1, may stretch to 1:3 with overflow/stepdown
• Must have minimum 1 year critical care experience required
• Prior travel experience preferred
• Must be competent with CRRT, IABP, vents, post-code/therapeutic hypothermia
• Skilled with all vasoactive medications, sedation, and paralytics required
• Required to titrate all critical care drips within ordered parameters
• Responsible for care and removal of central lines
• Required to float to stepdown and medical/surgical units as needed
• Rare call or standby requirements
• Must complete EPIC education before starting on floor
• General education competencies must be completed before arrival
• 2 shifts of general/floor orientation provided
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Dress code: Royal blue scrubs, scrub jackets only if worn (no hoodies or sweat jackets)
• Must provide unexpired driver's license copy with submission
• BSN not required
• Charting system: EPIC

Facility:

This healthcare facility features an 18-bed intensive care unit with all private rooms equipped with negative pressure capability. The ICU maintains an average daily census of 13 patients and provides comprehensive critical care services. The unit is staffed with intensivists during day shifts with resident support, hospitalists for overnight coverage, and dedicated respiratory therapists. Common patient diagnoses include sepsis, pneumonia, heart failure, COPD, diabetic ketoacidosis, overdoses, renal failure, neurosurgeries, and various surgical patients. The facility utilizes Phillips monitoring systems and has a dedicated pharmacist available during day shifts.
