Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Orthopedic

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Self-scheduling available
• Every third weekend requirement (Friday and Saturday considered weekend for nights)
• Patient ratio of 1:5 with 28 beds plus 22 overflow beds
• May float to PCU and McDermott (behavioral health)
• BLS certification required
• Must pass open book exam during orientation with 90% or higher to continue employment
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Driver's license required at submittal
• Must live more than 50 miles from facility
• Cannot be employed with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within past year
• Epic charting system
• First week classroom orientation followed by one 12-hour shift on unit
• Care for patients with total knees, total hips, shoulder replacements, COPD, diabetes, wounds, IV infusions, dementia, oncology, fractures, sepsis, pneumonia, and other medical-surgical conditions
• Unit focuses on hourly rounding and bedside shift report
• Must be flexible, self-directed, and enjoy learning new skills
• Work with charge nurse who takes patient assignment and nurse aids with 1:10 ratio
