Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac Tele Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday for both day and night shifts)
• Holiday rotation schedule with permanent staff
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: MedSurg/Tele acuity 1:5 (possibly 1:6 if anticipating discharge), PCU acuity 1:4
• Work on 36-bed cardiac/telemetry progressive care unit (stepdown)
• Care for cardiac patients including CR bands, post catheterization, AMI, post-operative lung surgeries, respiratory failure, chest tubes, pacemakers, and post PCI patients
• Must be able to titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrelin, heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro up to 50 mcg
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips (Phillips monitors with monitor techs available)
• Higher acuity than most telemetry units - stepdown RN experience preferred
• Float to any MedSurg/Tele units as needed
• Required certification: BLS (AHA)
• BSN not required
• Charting system: EPIC
• Dress code: Royal blue scrubs, no false nails
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license (50-mile radius rule)
• Team nursing with 1 RN and 1 CNA for 6-7 patients when possible
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
