Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday requirements include 1 major and 1 minor holiday
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4 on a 22-bed stepdown unit
• Must pass open book skills exam on Friday during orientation with 90% or higher to continue employment
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• One 12-hour shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Must titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro
• Must read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Care for patients with heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke
• May float to ICU if appropriate experience is demonstrated
• Fast-paced unit with frequent admits and discharges
• Charge nurse takes full patient assignment
• Work with nurse aides/patient care techs at 1:10 ratio
• Use EPIC charting system
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Must live outside 50-mile radius and cannot have worked for CommonSpirit facilities within past year
• Driver's license required at submittal for radius verification
• Cyclic scheduling used
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
