Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM or night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Manage 1:2-3 patient ratios for adult patients
• Care for patients with trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• Required to titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation medications
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips using GE monitoring equipment
• Work with respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilators
• Float to PCU or MedSurg units as needed with typical unit ratios (1:4 or 1:5)
• Self-scheduling system with travelers added to core staff schedule
• Work every other weekend and minimum of 2 holidays during contract timeframe
• Complete 1 shift of unit-specific orientation
• Pass mandatory open-book skills exam on Wednesdays during orientation with 90% passing score required
• Chart in EPIC system
• Must maintain valid driver's license and live outside 50-mile radius
• Artificial nails are prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a 33-bed intensive care unit with an average daily census of 16 patients. The facility is designated as a Level 2 trauma center providing acute care services. The ICU is supported by nurse aides based on census needs and healthcare support technicians three days per week. The facility utilizes modern monitoring systems and provides comprehensive critical care services with telemetry oversight and respiratory therapy support.
