Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts: Days 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or Nights 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio for both day and night shifts
• Work on 4th Floor East Wing PCU unit with 55 beds
• Care for adult patients and occasionally pediatric patients 15 years and older
• Must pass open book skills exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score to continue
• Common patient diagnoses include CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, and weakness
• Manage PCA pumps for pain management, cardizem, and insulin drips
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Telemetry competency required
• Use EPIC electronic medical records system and Alaris IV pumps
• Float to medical-surgical areas based on highest need
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs required
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Must live more than 50 miles from facility and provide driver's license at submittal
• Cannot be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility
• Focus on hourly rounding and patient responsiveness
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
