RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 for both day and night shifts
• Every other weekend requirement
• Minimum of 2 holidays required within contract timeframe
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Must be competent with arterial lines
• Required to titrate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
• Must read and interpret telemetry strips
• Navy blue scrub dress code required
• Artificial nails are prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• One day of unit-specific orientation provided
• Must pass open book exam with 90% score during orientation or face termination
• Floating required to Med/Surg or ICU to take PCU acuity patients
• Driver's license required at submittal
• Must reside outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities
• RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13-week contract)
• EPIC charting system used
• Care for adult patients with cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, respiratory, stroke, post-stent, and renal failure diagnoses
• Work with high flow respiratory equipment, overhead lifts, portable lifts, vein finders, and bladder scanners
• Serve diverse cultural populations including Hispanic and Somalian patients

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 40-bed Progressive Care Unit with an average daily census of 24 patients. The facility is a Level 2 trauma center that focuses on patient experience scores and maintains modern equipment including overhead lifts and advanced diagnostic tools.
