Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with day/night rotation
• Must be on unit ready to go by 6:45 AM/PM
• 48-hour guarantee per week
• Weekend requirements: work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Friday/Saturday/Sunday considered weekend shifts)
• Day shift nurses required to work minimum 3 night shifts per 4-week schedule
• Patient ratios: goal 1:4, typically 1:5, occasionally 1:6
• Must float as needed to Tele, MedSurg, or Pandemic Unit with ratios up to 1:6-1:7
• Self-scheduling allowed as long as unit needs are met with 4 requested days off per month
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Must be able to titrate drips: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom) with navy scrub jackets, no hoodies
• Electronic Medical Records: Allscripts and Sunrise systems
• Care for patients with chest pain, rule out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post pacer, pre/post cardiac catheterizations, and Tikosyn therapy management
• Manage radial bands and groin checks (do not pull sheaths)
• Strict attendance policy: 2 occurrences including tardies/call-offs will result in termination
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license and disclose any licensing hits at time of submission
• 50-mile radius rule applies
• Floor orientation includes 4 hours with HR and remainder with preceptor over 2 days

This healthcare facility operates a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit with both private and semi-private rooms, providing comprehensive stepdown care services. The facility maintains 24/7 in-house support including hospitalist coverage, intensivist services, IV team, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services. The organization utilizes advanced telemetry monitoring systems and maintains high standards for patient care with dedicated clinical assistants and charge nurses who take full patient assignments.
