Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• May be placed in holiday rotation
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:5-7 on days, 1:6-8 on nights
• Must have minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• First time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS and RN License
• Can obtain PCT certification or have CNA certification
• Manage patients with common diagnoses including pneumonia, UTI, altered mental status, GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, falls/weakness
• Required to titrate drips including heparin, bumex, and lasix (no cardiac drip titration)
• Floating requirements to other medical surgical, medical surgical telemetry, or intermediate care units for lower acuity patients
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs
• 2 days of orientation: 1 day educator/computer system, 1 day with preceptor
• Charting system: Cerner
• No call or standby requirements
• Schedule made by manager with flexibility for requested time off
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license (50 mile radius rule)
• Any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission

Facility:

This medical center features a 48-bed medical surgical unit providing comprehensive acute care services. The facility maintains modern respiratory therapy equipment including BiPap, CPAP, and high flow oxygen, with dedicated respiratory therapists managing breathing treatments and equipment. The unit is supported by monitor technicians who read and interpret telemetry for all patients, and nursing staff work alongside patient care technicians who assist with vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, and patient care activities.
