Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with rotating weekends and holidays
• Care for 11-12 bed PCU stepdown unit with 1:4 nurse to patient ratio
• Must have travel experience and critical care background with 1-2 years experience
• Required to float to Med-Surg Telemetry, ICU, or Emergency Department as needed
• Care for post-operative vascular patients, hemodynamically stable cardiac dysrhythmias, CVA, sepsis, renal patients, stable acute MI, unstable angina, and post cardiac cath patients
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must be proficient with BiPAP, CPAP, mechanical ventilation, telemetry, critical drips, and post cardiac cath care
• CRRT and IABP experience preferred
• Arterial line experience, post fem pop, post endarterectomy, ECAR, and TVAR experience preferred
• Required to titrate drips including insulin, cardizem, heparin, amiodarone, and low dose dopamine
• Work with respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, high flow O2, mechanical ventilation via tracheostomy, specialty beds, and IV pumps
• Monitor telemetry with 24/7 monitor tech support and read strips
• Assist with general care and unit clerk duties when indicated
• Use EPIC charting system
• Dress code: Navy scrubs (solid color only), closed-toed shoes, no crocs
• Complete orientation including general hospital orientation, nursing orientation, computer training, and two 12-hour shifts with preceptor
