Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage as needed based on unit requirements
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 for both day and night shifts
• Float to any Med Surg unit (will not float to ED or Behavioral Health)
• 1-2 shifts orientation with preceptor
• Required certification: BLS (AHA), ACLS preferred
• Driver's license address must be outside 50 miles from facility
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs with navy or white jacket, white or navy undershirt, natural hair color required
• Excessive or distasteful tattoos must be covered
• Work with EPIC charting system
• Care for patients with wide variety of conditions including altered mental status, cardiac patients, renal patients, cancer, CVA overflow, TBI, appendectomy, chest tubes, and wound care
• Handle telemetry monitoring (monitored remotely) with basic arrhythmia knowledge required
• Manage IV drips including Heparin and Protonix (no titrating or cardiac drips)
• Work with respiratory equipment including BiPap, CPAP, and High Flow
• BSN not required
• Client may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment

This medical center operates a 35-bed Med Surg unit on the 5th floor that can expand to 42 beds, featuring 9 semi-private and 17 private rooms. The facility utilizes EPIC electronic medical records and maintains 24/7 hospitalist coverage, respiratory therapy, and in-house pharmacy services with Omnicell medication dispensing. The unit provides comprehensive medical-surgical care with telemetry monitoring capabilities and specializes in treating a diverse patient population with various acute care needs.
