Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 6:45 PM
• 24-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 on days and 1:4-5 on nights
• Every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts per month required
• Holiday rotation required for 6 main holidays (New Years, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Memorial Day, Labor Day)
• Block scheduling allowed (more common on nights) and self-scheduling permitted
• 2-3 shift unit-specific orientation
• Navy blue scrubs required
• No call or standby requirements
• Floating may be required as part of permanent staff rotation
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (NIHSS preferred)
• Must have experience with pre/post cardiac procedures including stents, pacemakers, ICDs, CABG, and vascular procedures
• Care for patients with cardiac catheterization procedures, cardioversions, cardiothoracic post-thoracotomy, chest tubes, trachs with home ventilators, BiPAP and CPAP
• Titrate various drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, and Integrilin (Dobutamine and Dopamine are non-titratable)
• Monitor techs handle telemetry monitoring and documentation
• Heavy cardiac and cardiothoracic unit with high acuity surgical patients
• EPIC charting system
• 2 cancellations allowed per 13-week assignment
• Permanent address must be at least 25 miles from facility location
