RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Manager creates schedule with no block or self-scheduling options
• Every other weekend requirement
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:4, or 1:3 for post-surgical patients within first 24 hours
• 18-bed cardiovascular stepdown unit supporting intermediate care and downgraded CVICU patients
• Care for patients with cardiac and vascular diagnoses including cath lab procedures, CVAs, CHF, A-fib RVR
• Required to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Nicardipine, Epinephrine, Cardizem, and blood pressure management medications
• Must read and interpret telemetry strips with remote tele tech support
• Work with respiratory therapy equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and nasal cannula
• Floating required to all same level and lower acuity units
• Navy blue scrub color requirement
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% or higher score
• 1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation tailored to experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• 1 year of experience with this patient population required
• Must live outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities
• EPIC charting system
• RTO needed upfront for 7 or less days per 13-week contract

This Level 1 trauma center operates a comprehensive cardiovascular program with an 18-bed stepdown unit that heavily supports thoracic procedures, electrophysiology, cardiac catheterization lab, and structural heart services. The facility maintains 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist coverage with cardiology on-call support, providing advanced cardiac and vascular care in an acute care setting with state-of-the-art monitoring capabilities and respiratory therapy services.
