Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Three consecutive 12-hour shifts (flexibility required as this is not guaranteed)
• Every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule required
• Holiday rotation participation expected
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:3 for stepdown patients
• May float to other units including 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10W
• Royal blue scrubs required
• 2 shifts unit-specific orientation provided
• Maximum 2 shifts cancellation per 13-week contract
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• ACLS preferred but not required
• Strong neuroscience experience required
• Care for higher acuity neuroscience patients including strokes, seizures, craniotomies, and epilepsy monitoring unit patients
• Manage common drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, dopamine, and others per physician orders
• Work with telemetry monitoring (strips read by monitor techs)
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 for floor vents and equipment management
• Charge nurse available 24/7 with nurse aids at 1:8-9 ratio

The facility operates a 31-bed unit combining 25 stepdown beds and 6 epilepsy monitoring unit beds, providing advanced neurological care for complex patients. The organization maintains high standards for patient care with dedicated charge nurses around the clock and comprehensive support services including 24/7 respiratory therapy.
