Opportunity:

RN - Tele Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Care for 25-bed Med Surg Neuro unit on 4th Floor North with 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratios
• Every other weekend requirement with 2-3 holiday shifts required from Thanksgiving to New Years
• Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score to continue assignment
• Two days of unit-specific orientation provided
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs for RNs
• Must live outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities
• Driver's license required at submittal for radius verification
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove leads to contract termination
• Travel experience preferred but will consider strong candidates without
• No license or background hits accepted
• Float to other medical surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients as needed
• Care for Med Surg/Tele patients including joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive
• Titrate heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine drips; manage PCA pumps
• Work with diverse patient populations including Spanish, Karen, and Burmese speaking patients
• Use EPIC charting system
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
