Description
Opportunity:
RN - Med Surg Neuro
Job Details:
• Work 12.5-hour weekend day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend schedule includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday OR Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 for floor patients on a 20-bed neuroscience unit
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS (must be in hand at time of submission)
• ACLS certification preferred
• Must have strong neuroscience experience and proficiency with G-tubes
• Recent EPIC charting system experience required
• Care for patients with neurosciences conditions, deep brain stimulators, stroke, seizures, surgical/post-op spines, and neurological disorders
• Work with common drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, dopamine, Nipride, Ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, and Insulin
• Telemetry monitoring available with monitor techs reading strips
• Unit orientation consists of 1 shift
• Holiday work requirement as part of rotation
• Possible floating to other units (7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E) as needed
• Dress code: any combination of white and royal blue scrubs
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• BSN not required but nursing license must be submitted

Units are traveler friendly, ratios 1:2 ICU, 1:3 SD, 1:5-6 Floor. Epic charting system, lots of resources and ancillary services available at most times. Easy to reach out to docs, docs are hit and miss on good communication like most places. Usually have float nurses in the ICU units to help out.
Cons
Common to get pulled as a traveler but wont pull ICU to anywhere but other ICU and SD.

Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
