RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:4, or 1:3 for post-surgical patients in the first 24 hours
• Work in 18-bed Cardiovascular Unit (CVU)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must have 1 year of experience with this patient population
• Responsible for titrating drips including amiodarone, nitroglycerin, nicardipine, epinephrine, cardizem, and multiple blood pressure management medications
• Care for patients requiring intermediate care and downgraded CVICU patients
• Manage patients from cath lab, CVA, CHF, atrial fibrillation with RVR, and other cardiac and vascular diagnoses
• Must read and interpret telemetry strips
• Work with respiratory therapy equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and nasal cannula
• Will float to all same level and lower levels of acuity
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Use EPIC charting system
• 1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation tailored to needs and experience
• Must live outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with any CommonSpirit facility
