RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend (3 weekends out of a 6-week schedule)
• Work into holiday rotation schedule
• 52-bed unit with all private rooms
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7 (mostly 1:7 for both day and night shifts)
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS; ACLS is a plus
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom) with navy scrub jackets, no hoodies allowed
• Use Allscripts charting system and Sunrise EMR
• Float to other Med Surg units, Med Surg/Oncology units, and possibly IMC for Med Surg overflow
• General hospital orientation followed by 2 full shifts on the unit
• Handle drips including Heparin, PCAs with MSO4, occasional Ativan, but no cardiac drips or insulin
• Work with BiPAP (intermittent only), CPAP, and high flow equipment
• Remote telemetry monitoring as needed
• IV team starts all IVs - RNs assess IV sites but do not start their own
• Care for ortho post-ops, basic neuro post-ops, general post-ops, and medical patients including COPD, pneumonia, and cellulitis
• Experience with peritoneal dialysis highly preferred as hemodialysis patients are on this floor
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license with submission
• BSN not required
• 2 shifts cancellation policy per 13-week contract

This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive 52-bed medical surgical unit featuring all private rooms and maintains 24/7 in-house support including hospitalist coverage, intensivist services, IV and PICC teams, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services with Pyxis system. The facility provides acute care services with specialized support for orthopedic, neurological, and general surgical patients, along with dialysis services and comprehensive medical management for various conditions.
