RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Interview with unit leaders required
• 2 years recent ICU experience required
• Must live outside 50-mile radius from facility
• Driver's license required at submittal for distance verification
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• BSN degree required
• Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score to continue
• Work in 34-bed Med Surg ICU unit
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:1-2 ICU, PCU 1:4-5, MS 1:5-6
• Care for adults and pediatric patients over 15 years old
• Common diagnoses include neuro surgery, respiratory failure, ARDS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, renal failure, general surgery, GI bleeds
• Required to titrate vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmic drips
• Work with various equipment including CVPs, A-lines, Swan catheters, EV-1000, ICP monitoring, ventilators
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips using Draeger heart monitoring system
• Float to all inpatient units excluding Maternity/NICU
• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove results in contract termination
• 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• Use EPIC charting system
• Manager creates schedule based on unit needs
