RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with weekend requirements as scheduled
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage as needed to fill unit needs
• No call or standby requirements
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA)
• Must wear royal blue scrubs
• One week orientation including modules, EPIC training, and unit orientation with RN
• Work in 18-bed mixed acuity unit with Step Down and ICU status patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1 for fresh hearts and devices, 1:2 for ICU status patients, 1:3 for step down status patients
• Must have experience with >6 hour post-op open heart patients
• Required experience: CRRT, temporary pacemakers, post permanent pacer, acute MI pre/post cath, mediastinal/chest tubes, ventilator, hypothermia protocol, arterial lines
• Preferred experience: fresh open heart, IABP/Impella, hemodynamic monitoring/Swan-Ganz
• Required to titrate common drips including Cardizem, Cordarone, Cardene, Nitroglycerin, and various vasopressors
• Chart in EPIC system
• Work with 1-2 PCTs per shift and 24/7 respiratory therapist support
• Travelers float first to ACU, ICU, Med-Surg, and Telemetry units
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling requests allowed when possible
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license with submission
• 50-mile radius rule applies

The unit maintains advanced equipment and protocols for cardiac care including ventilator support, hemodynamic monitoring, and specialized cardiac devices, with 24/7 intensivist and respiratory therapist coverage.
