RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day/night rotating shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement
• May be placed in holiday rotation
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:5-7 on days, 1:6-8 on nights
• Must have minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• First time travelers accepted
• Required to titrate drips (heparin, bumex, lasix) with exceptions - no cardiac drip titration
• May float to other Med Surg, Med Surg-Tele, or IMC units for lower acuity patients
• Common patient diagnoses include pneumonia, UTI, altered mental status, GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, falls/weakness
• Work with nurse aids/patient care techs (ratio 1:10-12 average)
• Monitor patients but not required to read or interpret telemetry strips
• Chart using Cerner system
• Required certifications: BLS and RN license
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs
• 2 days of orientation (1 day educator/computer system, 1 day with preceptor)
• No call or standby requirements
• Must reside within 50-mile radius and provide copy of unexpired driver's license
• BSN not required
