RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend requirements include every other weekend (EOW)
• May be required to participate in holiday rotation
• 30-bed stepdown unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-6 depending on acuity
• Must have minimum 2 years of stepdown/PCU experience required
• Must be comfortable with cardiac monitoring and cardiac drips
• Required to titrate drips including cardizem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, and angiomax
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips, perform measurements, and identify rhythms
• Expected to troubleshoot respiratory equipment as appropriate
• Care for patients with cardiac conditions, post-pneumonia, post-catheterization lab, seizures, ETOH with CIWA protocols, and pacemaker patients
• Floating requirements to any inpatient unit with travelers being first to float
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs
• Orientation includes 2 days of general orientation plus 1 day with preceptor
• Use Cerner charting system
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license with submission
• BSN not required but valid nursing license required for submission

Facility:

This medical center operates a 30-bed stepdown unit providing intermediate care for patients requiring closer monitoring than general medical floors but not intensive care. The facility maintains 24/7 support services including respiratory therapy, monitor technicians, and hospitalist coverage with nocturnist availability. The unit is equipped with advanced cardiac monitoring systems and respiratory equipment to support complex patient care needs in an acute care setting.
