RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Minimum of 2 holidays required during contract timeframe
• 1 shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Must pass open book exam with 90% score during orientation on Wednesdays
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Driver's license required at submittal
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Must live outside 50-mile radius from facility
• Provide care in 33-bed ICU with average daily census of 16 patients
• Maintain 1:2-3 nurse-to-patient ratios for adults
• Care for patients with trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• Required to titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation medications
• Read, interpret, and document telemetry strips using GE monitoring system
• Float to PCU or MedSurg units as needed maintaining typical unit ratios (1:4 or 1:5)
• Use EPIC charting system
• If placed on call and called back, must arrive within 30 minutes
• Work with respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilators
