RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with day/night rotation
• Must be on unit ready to work by 6:45 AM/PM
• Weekend requirements include working 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Friday/Saturday/Sunday considered weekend shifts)
• Day shift staff required to work minimum 3 night shifts per 4-week schedule
• Nurse-to-patient ratios goal is 1:4, typically running 1:5, occasionally 1:6
• Float to telemetry or medical-surgical units as needed with ratios up to 1:6, possibly 1:7 in med-surg
• Self-scheduling allowed when unit needs are met, with 4 requested days off per month
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom), navy scrub jackets, no hoodies
• Care for patients with chest pain, rule out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacemaker, pre/post cardiac catheterizations
• Manage radial bands, perform groin checks, and care for patients on Tikosyn therapy
• Two-day orientation: first day with HR (4 hours) then unit preceptor (8 hours), second day with unit preceptor
• Use Allscripts charting system and Nihon Kohden telemetry monitors
• Strict attendance policy: 2 cancellations per 13-week contract maximum, zero tolerance for tardiness and call-offs
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license and disclose any licensing issues
• 50-mile radius rule applies

Facility:

This healthcare facility features a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit with 14 private and 16 semi-private rooms, providing comprehensive cardiac and intermediate-level patient care. The facility maintains 24/7 hospitalist coverage, intensivist coverage in the ICU, and resident physicians in-house around the clock. Support services include 24/7 IV team, PICC/Midline team, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services with Pyxis medication dispensing system. The facility uses advanced telemetry monitoring and provides a collaborative environment with clinical assistants and multiple CNAs supporting patient care.
