RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work four 10-hour shifts per week from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
• OR operates Monday through Friday, closed on holidays and weekends except for call
• Call required for nights and weekends with 30-minute response time
• Call shifts average 3-4 per month, typically 7 AM-7 PM Monday-Friday and 24 hours on weekends
• Weekend rotation approximately every 6-7 weeks
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA)
• Must have driver's license address outside 50 miles from facility
• Previous travel experience preferred but will consider first-time travelers with strong OR experience
• COVID vaccine required (2 shots Moderna/Pfizer or 1 shot J&J)
• Scrubs provided by facility
• 1:1 nursing ratios with usually 2 OR techs per room
• Work with EPIC EMR system and Phillips telemetry
• Handle diverse surgical cases including total joints, sports medicine, arthroscopies, general surgery, gynecology, urology, and ophthalmology
• Scrubbing not required for RNs
• Floor-specific orientation includes 3 shifts with preceptor after general hospital orientation
• No floating required for travelers
• Maximum 2 shift cancellations per 13-week contract

This medical center operates a modern 4-room surgical suite including 3 OR suites and 1 procedure room with all patients flowing through the same PreOp area. The facility features a robust total joint program with ROSA robot technology and maintains innovative equipment and resources. The OR handles 6-22 cases daily depending on the schedule, with comprehensive specialty services including orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, urology, ophthalmology, and plastic surgery. The facility maintains 24/7 charge nurse coverage and in-house respiratory therapy, with Pyxis medication systems available.
