RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with options for 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Patient ratio of 1:4 for both day and night shifts
• Care for adult patients (pediatric patients are rare and typically 15 years or older)
• Must live outside 50-mile radius and provide driver's license at submittal
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Telemetry competency required
• Must pass open book skills exam during orientation with 90% or higher
• Work with EPIC electronic medical records system
• Use Alaris IV pumps and PCA pumps for pain management
• Common patient diagnoses include CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, subdural hematoma
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• May float to medical-surgical areas based on hospital needs
• Support staff includes nursing assistants, charge nurse, educators, care managers, social workers
• Focus on hourly rounding and patient responsiveness
• BSN not required

This healthcare facility is a Level 1 trauma center providing comprehensive acute care services. The PCU unit is located on the 4th Floor East Wing and features 55 beds dedicated to progressive care. The facility utilizes modern equipment including mechanical lifts and advanced monitoring systems, while maintaining a collaborative care model with interdisciplinary support teams including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and dieticians.
