RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Must be on unit ready to work by 6:45 AM/PM
• Weekend requirements: Days must work 4 weekend day shifts per 4-week schedule
• Anyone working straight days must work minimum 3 night shifts per 4-week schedule
• Self-scheduling allowed as long as unit needs are met
• Staff allowed 4 requested days off per month
• Patient ratios goal of 1:4, usually 1:5, occasionally 1:6
• Required to float to Tele, MedSurg, or Pandemic Unit as needed
• Float ratios up to 1:6, possibly 1:7 in MedSurg
• Scrub requirements: Navy blue top and bottom, navy scrub jackets, no hoodies
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Required to titrate drips: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
• Manage patients with chest pain, MI rule-outs, CHF, arrhythmias, post pacer, pre/post cardiac catheterizations
• Handle groin checks, radial band management and removal (no sheath pulling)
• Manage Tikosyn therapy patients
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Two-day orientation: First day 4 hours HR, remaining 8 hours on unit with preceptor, second day on unit with preceptor
• Must submit copy of unexpired driver's license
• Strict attendance policy: 2 occurrences (tardies/call-offs) result in termination
• Must follow proper protocol and alert proper channels more than 2 hours prior to shift for emergencies

Facility:

This healthcare facility features a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit with 14 private and 16 semi-private rooms. The facility utilizes Allscripts charting system and Nihon Kohden telemetry monitors. The hospital provides comprehensive support services including 24/7 hospitalist coverage, in-house intensivists, resident physicians, IV team, PICC/Midline team, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services. The facility maintains strict quality standards and operates with modern medical equipment to provide intermediate-level cardiac and medical care.
