RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekends scheduled as required, every other weekend
• 27-bed medical surgical unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6 maximum 7 on night shift
• Required certification: BLS
• Must have experience with blood transfusions, wound vac changes, and PCA pumps
• Manage heparin drips per protocol
• Care for patients with orthopedic procedures (knee/hip replacements, fractures), genitourinary procedures (TURBT, TURP, bladder biopsies), general surgical procedures (hemicolectomy, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repair), and post-catheter lab interventions
• Work with Patient Care Technicians who assist with patient care duties
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment as needed (CPAP, BiPap, high flow)
• Use Cerner charting system
• Floating may be required to other medical surgical, telemetry, or IMC units on rotating basis
• Dress code: Navy blue or white scrubs (scrubs not provided)
• 1 day orientation with educator, 1-2 days with preceptor
• Must submit copy of unexpired driver's license and maintain 50-mile radius from facility
• May participate in holiday rotation schedule
