RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Rotate holidays with permanent staff
• No call or standby requirements
• Self-scheduling available but subject to manager approval
• Block scheduling may be allowed but not guaranteed
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Must be comfortable with different cultures and work in a drama-free environment
• Navy scrubs required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, COVID vaccine
• BSN not required
• Care for a mix of ICU, stepdown, and medical surgical overflow patients
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:1-2, flexible up to 1:3-4 for overflow patients
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Required to titrate all common ICU drips
• Float to medical surgical or emergency room as helping hands when needed
• Work with common MICU diagnoses including ETOH, suicide attempts, DKA, sepsis, respiratory issues, post-surgical patients, and minor CVAs
• 2-3 day unit orientation provided, including orientation to float units
• MEDITECH charting system
• Cancellation policy allows up to 3 shifts in 13-week assignment without penalty

Facility:

This acute care hospital features a 14-bed ICU that serves as a comprehensive unit handling ICU, stepdown, and medical surgical overflow patients. The facility operates without a separate stepdown unit, creating a unique environment where the ICU accommodates various acuity levels. The hospital maintains 24/7 hospitalist coverage with intensivist support available on call during evenings and nights. Respiratory therapy is available in the ICU around the clock, and the unit is equipped with modern ventilator technology including Draeger and Puritan Bennett equipment.
