RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Must be on unit ready to go by 6:45 AM/PM
• Weekend requirements: work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday all considered weekend shifts)
• Day shift staff required to work minimum of 3 night shifts per 4-week schedule
• Self-scheduling allowed as long as unit needs are met
• Staff allowed 4 requested days off per month
• Patient ratios goal is 1:4, typically running 1:5, occasionally 1:6
• Required to float to Telemetry or Medical/Surgical units as needed with ratios up to 1:6, possibly 1:7 in MedSurg
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetolol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom), navy scrub jackets, no hoodies
• Use EPIC charting system
• Manage patients with chest pain, rule out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post pacemaker, pre/post cardiac catheterizations, and Tikosyn therapy patients
• Manage radial bands and removal but do not pull sheaths
• Strict attendance policy: 2 occurrences including tardies/call offs result in termination
• Floor-specific orientation includes first day with HR (4 hours) then remaining time with preceptor for 2 days
• Must live within 50-mile radius and provide copy of unexpired driver's license
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract

Facility:

This healthcare organization operates a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit with 14 private and 16 semi-private rooms. The facility provides comprehensive cardiac and intermediate care services with 24/7 support including hospitalist coverage, intensivist in ICU, pharmacy services, respiratory therapy, and IV team support. The unit utilizes Nihon Kohden telemetry monitoring and features modern technology including high-flow oxygen systems and Bipap equipment managed by respiratory therapy.
