RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend as scheduled
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:6-8 on nights
• Must have minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• First time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS and RN License
• Can take PCT class to become PCT or have CNA certification
• Required to titrate drips including heparin, bumex, and lasix (no cardiac drip titration)
• May be required to participate in holiday rotation
• Floating requirements: may be floated to other Med Surg, Med Surg-Telemetry, or IMC units for lower acuity patients
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs
• 2-day orientation: 1 day educator/computer system training, 1 day with preceptor
• Charting system: Cerner
• BSN not required
• No call or standby requirements
• Common patient diagnoses include pneumonia, UTI, altered mental status, GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, falls/weakness
• Must reside within 50-mile radius and provide copy of unexpired driver's license
• Cancellation policy: client may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment

Facility:

This medical center operates a 48-bed medical surgical unit providing acute care services to the community. The facility features modern respiratory therapy equipment including BiPap, CPAP, and high flow oxygen systems managed by dedicated respiratory therapists. The unit includes telemetry monitoring services with centralized monitor technicians who read and interpret cardiac rhythms for all telemetry patients. The healthcare facility maintains comprehensive support services including patient care technicians, charge nurses, and specialized departments to ensure quality patient care across all shifts.
